Drew Cash was born and raised in a small town in Kentucky, about 70 miles down the river from Louisville. He wrote his first “real” poem in the fourth grade, which so impressed his teacher that she “published” it in her weekly newsletter. Once he learned three chords on the guitar, he’d start setting those poems to music. His first acting role was the title character in Tom Sawyer at age 14. He’s been trying to juggle these three passions—writing, music, and acting—ever since. As an actor he’s appeared in such shows as the long-running procedural Criminal Minds, Rapper Lil Dicky’s hit dramedy Dave on FX, and various independent films. He wrote and directed an award-winning short film “Relics” in 2017 and has written lyrics for the Los Angeles jazz band San Lyon. During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, Cash began recording his debut EP, Back To Zero, which will be released later this year. His narrative lyrical style draws inspiration from the folk tradition. He often composes songs about the people he’s met and seeks meaning and beauty in the minutiae of life. At his core, he is, simply put, a collector and teller of stories. He lives and works Los Angeles.
